Skonieczny Homers as Redhawks Fall to Frostburg St.

PITTSBURGH, PA – Ed Skonieczny hit his second career home run but it was not enough as the Redhawks (25-10) fell to former AMCC rival Frostburg St. (28-13) 11-3 at John Arnold Sr. Memorial Field.

Starting pitcher, James Connelly, recorded the loss. He threw 6 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs (seven earned runs) on nine hits while striking out three batters.

Skonieczny went 2 for 4 including a two-run home run. George Nahay finished with a RBI and a run scored and Mitchell Meyers scored a run.

Frostburg St. starting pitcher, Britton Quayle, threw all nine innings for the Bobcats allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out eight.

La Roche Baseball will play #1 Marietta in double-header tomorrow, May 7 at 2:00PM at John Arnold Sr. Memorial Field. George Nahay, Chester Kirkwood, Adam Brydon, and Austin Long will be recognized before the game as graduating seniors.
