Redhawks Fall in AMCC Tournament Championship Round

ALTOONA, PA – The Redhawks (26-14) fell to Penn St. Behrend (25-10) 13-10 and Medaille College (22-14) 7-2 in the Championship Round of the AMCC Tournament at Penn St. Altoona. The loss ends La Roche's bid for their first-ever AMCC Tournament Championship.

Reed Tomlinson registered the game one loss after allowing seven runs on nine hits while striking out two batters and walking four. Ray Snyder threw 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Chester Kirkwood went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Anthony Girdano recorded two hits and scored three times while Mitchell Meyers scored twice. George Nahay reached base three times and hit his fourth home run of the season.

James Connelly allowed seven runs (four earned runs) in 3 1/3 innings in the game two loss to Medaille. Jesse Bauer threw 5 2/3 shutout innings in relief.

Mitchell Meyers finished with two hits and scored the Redhawks' only two runs of the game. Sean Lubin and George Nahay provided RBIs in the loss.

The NCAA Division III Tournament Field will be announced on Sunday and the ECAC Division III Tournament on Monday.
