Redhawks' Baseball Falls to Former Conference Rival
FROSTBURG, MD – La Roche Baseball (20-15) dropped a single nine-inning game to former AMCC Conference foe Frostburg State (21-18) 9-4 on Friday at Bob Wells Field.
Shane Healey and Casey Zimmerman led off the game by scoring consecutive runs and Ryan Fennell and Sean Lubin added a run each in the eighth inning for the Redhawks. Frostburg State's scoring was highlighted by a three-run home run from Torian Cyrus.
Adam Zimmerman went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI and Dustin Lalle reached base 3 times and doubled. Dan Burns finished with 3 hits and Shane Healey, Casey Zimmerman, Ryan Fennell, and Sean Lubin scored runs. Mitchell Meyers recorded an RBI and Jon Shaffer, James Connelly, and Ryan Fennell combinded for 4 scoreless innings in the loss.
La Roche Baseball's game against Marietta College scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.
