FORT PIERCE, FL – La Roche Baseball (4-1) shutout Susquehanna (0-6) 2-0 in a nine-inning game on Tuesday night.
The Redhawks took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Sean Lubin reached on an error and scored on a single to centerfield by Shane Healey. La Roche extended their lead in the seventh inning after Susquehanna's first baseman misplayed a ball which allowed Devin Pritts to score.
AMCC Player of the Week, Shane Healey, went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a walk and Anthony Girdano registered 2 singles. Sean Lubin walked and scored and Colin Williamson reached base twice and had a stolen base. Devin Pritts scored a run in the win.
Ryan Fennell had another great start and improved to 2-0 after tossing 8 shutout innings while allowing just 1 hit and striking out 7 batters. Jesse Bauer struck out the side in the ninth inning to record the save.
The Redhawks will enjoy their off-day tomorrow before returning to action on Wednesday against Misericordia. Misericordia is currently receiving 15 votes in the national Top 25 poll.
