PITTSBURGH, PA -- La Roche Men's Basketball (2-1) overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to top Waynesburg University (1-1) 65-60 in overtime.
The Redhawks depth was key in the victory because four of La Roche's five starters were in foul trouble late. Key reserves, freshmen David Jackson and Andre Flanigan played significant minutes in the second half and overtime to get La Roche back into the game.
The Redhawks had a chance to win it at the end of the second half. Senior guard Laron Mann shot it from half-court as regulation expired but the ball hit the front-end of the rim.
In overtime, La Roche went 4 for 5 from the foul line to put the game away.
Junior guard Mike Dixon led all scorers with 14 points and Flanigan added 11 points. Jackson recorded 9 rebounds in the win.
La Roche Men's Basketball will travel to St. Vincent College on Tuesday, November 23 at 7:30PM to take on the Bobcats.
