PITTSBURGH, PA – Four Redhawks scored in double figures as La Roche Men's Basketball (20-2, 14-1) downed AMCC rival Penn St. Behrend (18-3, 13-2) 67-61 in a battle of first-place teams. The win evens the season series and gives the Redhawks sole possession of first-place with three games remaining.
Penn State Behrend came into the contest shooting over 50% but the Redhawks held them to 38%, including 30% in the second half. The Lions did not hit a field goal from the 8:46 mark in the second half until the 00:32 mark.
Nate Wojciechowski led the Redhawks with 14 points including a 3 for 3 performance from three-point land. Mike Dixon and Joel McIntosh each finished with 13 points and Laron Mann added 11 points and 6 assists.
The Redhawks drained more than half of the shots they attempted and assisted on 17 of their 22 made field goals.
La Roche Men's Basketball will travel to Pitt-Bradford (9-12, 7-7) on Saturday, February 12 at 3:00PM. The Panthers are currently ranked fourth in the AMCC and are coming off of an 87-69 win over Penn St. Altoona.
