Redhawks Overcome Twenty Point Deficit to Beat Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, PA – The Redhawks (21-2, 15-1) made a fierce second-half comeback to overcome their largest deficit of the season and beat Pitt-Bradford (9-14, 7-9) 86-80 in AMCC Conference play on Saturday.

La Roche trailed 67-47 with 12:40 left in regulation before making a 24-4 run over the next eight minutes to tie the ballgame. The Redhawks took the lead for good at the 3:45 mark when Nate Wojciechowski knocked-down a three-pointer on a feed from Laron Mann. Joel McIntosh added two layups and a pair of foul shots down the stretch.

Defense triggered the Redhawks comeback as they held the Panthers to 36% shooting in the second half after hitting nearly 70% of their shots in the first half. La Roche dominated on the glass in the second-half outrebounding Pitt-Bradford by ten.

Wojciechowski led the Redhawks with 24 points and Mann added 20 points and a season-high 8 assists. McIntosh finished with 14 points including 10 points in the second half.

Pitt-Bradford guard Dan Heisey led all scorers with 29 points and forward Joe Coppola finished with 26 points in the loss.

The win completes a season sweep of the Panthers. It is the first time the Redhawks have swept Pitt-Bradford in AMCC Conference play.

La Roche will host Franciscan University (3-17, 3-12) on Wednesday, February 16 at 8:00PM. Franciscan is coming off of a 69-64 win over Penn State Altoona.
