PITTSBURGH, PA – The Redhawks grabbed a school-record sixty-two rebounds as La Roche men's basketball (4-1, 1-0) cruised to a 117-87 win over Mt. Aloysius (2-2, 0-1) in their conference-opener at the Kerr Fitness Center.
La Roche shot 56% and hit 10 of 17 shots from behind the arc to take a commanding 71-31 lead into halftime. The Redhawks continued their dominance in the second half and led by as many as 52 points before taking their foot off of the gas.
Andre Flanigan went 4 for 8 from three-point range and finished with 15 points and 6 assists. David Jackson recorded his second double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Joel McIntosh made 7 of 10 shots for a season-high 18 points. Ryan Frantz added 13 points off of the bench.
The Redhawks outscored Mt. Aloysius 60-34 in the paint and converted 38 second chance points. La Roche also scored 48 points off of the bench.
The Redhawks will host Hilbert College on Saturday, December 3 at 2:00PM. La Roche eliminated the Hawks in the AMCC Conference Tournament Semifinals last season.
