Former La Roche men's basketball point guard, Laron Mann, has signed a professional contract with the Dayton Air Strikers of the Premier Basketball League. The Air Strikers are located in Kettering, Ohio and play teams from all across the northern United States.
Mann graduated from La Roche College in May after a prolific career on the hardwood. He helped lead the Redhawks to their second-ever AMCC Conference Championship and a berth in their first NCAA Tournament. He was also named to the AMCC All-Conference Second Team.
Mann made stops in Canada, New York, Virginia, and Dallas before settling with the Air Strikers in December. In Dayton, he has started a few games at point guard and helped the Air Strikers win the league's preseason tournament.
Mann is the only NCAA Division III alumni on Dayton. The roster is made up of mostly former Division I and Division II players including athletes from UConn, Ohio State, and Penn State.
Mann attributes much of his success to La Roche coaches Scott Lang and Harry Jenkins and their coaching staffs for developing his game and being a positive influence.
