PITTSBURGH, PA – Mike Dixon scored a team-high 15 points, but the Redhawks (17-6, 12-4) fell to Pitt-Bradford (10-12, 9-7) 65-63 in a heartbreaker on senior day at the Kerr Fitness Center.
La Roche trailed by eleven points with six minutes remaining before going on a 10-0 run to get within one. Dixon and Flanigan led the charge with 5 points apiece, but the Panthers hit their free throws down the stretch to end it.
Dixon finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds and David Jackson fell one point short of his eleventh double-double with 9 points and 16 rebounds. Andre Flanigan scored in double figures (12 points) for the third game in a row and Derek Barber-Richards added 8 points and 4 rebounds.
Despite the loss, La Roche out-rebounded Pitt-Bradford 41-27 including a 23-7 performance on the offensive glass. The Redhawks also outscored Pitt-Bradford on turnovers by fifteen points.
La Roche men's basketball will travel to Franciscan on Wednesday to take on the Barons. Joe Dice had a career-high 15 points in an 85-47 win over Franciscan in January.
