Flanigan Scores Career-High 23 Points in Loss to Medaille

BUFFALO, NY – Andre Flanigan scored a career-high 23 points and Mike Dixon recorded a double-double in the Redhawks (18-7, 13-5) 77-70 loss to Medaille College (23-2, 17-1) on Saturday.

La Roche trailed by 18 points with 8:28 left in regulation before storming back to get within three points. David Jackson led the charge with 8 points and Andre Flanigan hit a deep three-pointer and threw down a momentum swinging dunk.

The Redhawks had a chance to tie it with a minute left but La Roche missed a three-pointer before the Mavericks converted one of their own on the other end.

Flanigan led all scorers with 23 points and added 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Mike Dixon recorded his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 boards and also registered 5 assists. Joel McIntosh and David Jackson each recorded double figures in the loss.

Despite the loss, La Roche out-rebounded the Mavericks 38-27 and outscored them by 14 in the paint.

The Redhawks will return to Medaille (Buffalo, NY) on Friday, February 24 to play in the AMCC Tournament Semifinal. They will play the winner of the Penn State Behrend/D'Youville winner.
