Men's Hoops Falls to Penn St. Behrend in AMCC Semifinal

BUFFALO, NY – The Redhawks (18-8, 13-5) outrebounded Penn State Behrend (16-10, 13-5) by eighteen and held a three point halftime advantage, but could not hold on as they fell 50-46 in the AMCC Conference Semifinal.

La Roche had a chance to tie it trailing 45-43 with 33 seconds left but missed two consecutive free throws. The Lions took advantage by hitting three of the next four free throws before Mike Dixon drained a three-pointer to get back within two. La Roche immediately fouled, but Penn State Behrend hit two foul shots to put the game away.

Mike Dixon led La Roche with 17 points on 7 of 14 shooting and Joel McIntosh added 9 points and 8 assists. David Jackson finished with 7 points and Andre Flanigan with 6 points.

Despite the loss, the Redhawks out-rebounded Penn State Behrend 40-22 including a 17-4 performance on the offensive glass. Neither team led by more than five points in the contest and there were sixteen lead changes.
