PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Lacrosse (2-4) could not overcome a five-goal fourth period deficit falling to Neumann University (2-7) 10-9 at Redhawks' Field.
La Roche trailed 10-5 with less than ten minutes to play before making a run. Dustin Reykdal scored a goal at the 8:22 mark and Crawford Healy followed with a goal forty seconds later to cut the deficit to three.
The visiting Knights replaced their starting goalkeeper following Reykdal's goal but Mitchell Banister was still able to find the back of the net with forty-five seconds left in regulation. Reykdal would add another goal with eight seconds to play but that was it before the final horn sounded.
Reykdal finished with four goals and Healy and Thouin added two goals apiece. Banister recorded a goal and an assist and Shawn Teixeira added three assists in the loss.
Eugene LaBorde made 17 saves including seven in the third period. Arsalan Arabani won 15 of 23 faceoffs.
The Redhawks will host Thiel College (1-8) on Wednesday, April 6 at 4:00PM at Redhawk's Field. Thiel is coming off of a 29-1 loss to St. Vincent College.
