Redhawks Hold on for Senior Day Win

PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Lacrosse (6-5) jumped out to a 7-1 lead and held on for a 9-8 win over Ferrum College (6-8) in front of a packed crowd on senior day.

Matt Hamill and Crawford Healy each recorded three goals and Dustin Reykdal added a goal in the win. Jean-Guillaume Thouin scored twice and registered a career-high three assists. Healy, Thouin, and Reykdal have all scored at least twenty goals this season.

Hamill and Nate Marsh led the Redhawks with six ground balls a piece and Thouin recorded eight shots. Eugene LaBorde made fourteen saves in the win.

The Redhawks, who currently rank second in the nation in ground balls, recorded forty-eight ground balls La Roche also converted 25 of 34 clears and went 1 for 4 with a man-up.

La Roche Lacrosse will host Thiel College (2-10) on Wednesday, April 27 at 4:00PM. The Tomcats are coming off of a 14-3 loss to Washington & Jefferson.
