Sean Clark Scores Twice in 17-7 Loss to Oberlin

PITTSBURGH, PA – Sean Clark scored a career-high two goals in La Roche Lacrosse's (5-11) 17-7 loss to Oberlin (5-8) on Saturday in a cold and rainy game.

In addition to Clark's two tallies, Shawn Teixeira, Bryce Wells, Garrett Fraser, Steve Murphy and Crawford Healy scored goals. Blaine Shaffner recorded two assists and Dustin Reykdal added his team-leading tenth assist and fiftieth point of the season.

TJ Leo led the Redhawks on defense with 6 ground balls and Mike Merchant and Brad Nylen registered 5 ground balls each. Leo, Nylen, and Crawford Healy forced 2 turnovers a piece. Eugene LaBorde stopped 8 shots in net and Jon Monahan made his first collegiate appearance at goalkeeper.

Despite the loss, the Redhawks took 34 shots and outshot visiting Oberlin College 15-4 in the fourth quarter. La Roche also recorded six more ground balls than Oberlin and the Redhawks won 13 of 21 faceoffs.

La Roche Lacrosse will conclude their season with they travel to Neumann College on Saturday, April 28. Last season, the Redhawks fell to Neumann 10-9 in a thriller on the La Roche campus.
