FROSTBURG, MD – La Roche men's lacrosse (0-2) dropped their second straight game with an 18-7 loss to Frostburg State (2-0) on Wednesday Night.

Dustin Reykdal gave the Redhawks a 1-0 lead just 32 seconds into the game when he scored his fifth goal of the season. The lead was short-lived however because Frostburg State scored 45 seconds later. The Bobcats added five more goals in the first quarter to take control of the game.

La Roche had a strong second half and played even with Frostburg State over the final twenty-five minutes of the game. The Redhawks picked up 8 more ground balls in the final frame and went 8 for 10 on clears.

"I thought we came out flat in the first half," said midfielder Garrett Fraser. "We worked out some kinks and only gave up 5 goals in the second half. We pulled together and had a very disciplined and hard working second half offensively and we were able to pop a couple in."

Reykdal, Jean Thouin, and Mike DiMarco finished with 2 goals each and Blaine Shaffner added a goal. Crawford Healey registered 2 assists and Jon Monahan had 1. Reykdal went 9-9 on faceoffs and led La Roche on defense with 8 ground balls. Eugene LaBorde made 18 saves and picked up 7 ground balls and Bryce Wells had 6 ground balls.

Despite the loss, the Redhawks converted 15 of 22 clears and finished with 52 ground balls.

La Roche men's lacrosse will look to rebound when they travel to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday at 1:00PM. This is a first meeting between the two teams.
