PITTSBURGH, PA – Sophomore defender, Robert Fraino, scored twice and Yousef Barqawi and Bryan Weimerskirch each had a goal and an assist as the Redhawks (2-0) downed Hood College (1-1) 4-1 in front of a packed crowd at the La Roche Soccer Field. The win avenges a 3-1 loss to the Blazers last season.
Weimerskirch scored his first career goal less than ten minutes into the contest and Barqawi added a second to take a 2-0 lead. Hood answered late in the first half but Fraino's two second half goals sealed the win.
La Roche outshot the Blazers 15-9 including a 10-4 performance in the first half. Goalkeeper Michael Brunozzi made six saves in the win.
The Redhawks will travel to Waynesburg College on Tuesday, September 6th at 8:15PM. Last season the Yellow Jackests defeated La Roche 3-2.
