Luffey Records First Career Goal in 4-1 Loss to Geneva
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Men's Soccer (3-2) could not overcome a one-goal halftime deficit, falling to Geneva College (3-1-1) 4-1 in non-conference play on Monday.
The Redhawks trailed 2-0 before Ryan Luffey cut the lead to one with 3:25 left in the first half. Luffey buried a rebound for his first collegiate goal and sixth point of the season. Geneva scored two late goals to put the host Redhawks away.
Bryan Weimerskirch, Jonathan Mancuso, and Matt McAwley each registered two shots. Goalkeeper, Nick Sabol, made four saves in the loss. Jake McCracken recorded a hat trick for Geneva College
La Roche Men's Soccer will travel to Thiel College (3-2) on Wednesday, September 14 at 4:00PM to take on the Tomcats. Last season, the Redhawks fell to Thiel 3-1.
