Weimerskirch Scores Twice, Luffey Ties School's Assist Record in 4-3 OT Loss

ALTOONA, PA – Bryan Weimerskirch scored two second half goals and Ryan Luffey tied the school's single-season assist mark but the Redhawks (10-6-1, 4-4-1) fell to Penn State Altoona (7-9, 6-3) 4-3 in overtime. Despite the loss, La Roche finishes the regular season with the second most wins in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Weimerskirch scored his eleventh and twelfth goals of the season to take over third place in the AMCC Conference in both points and goals. Weimerskirch needs one more goal to tie the school's single-season goal record and one more point to tie the school's single-season point mark.

Tyler Irwin finished with a goal and Chad Trozzi, Philip Ross, and Luffey added assists. Luffey's ninth assist of the season ties John James' record set in 2008.

The Redhawks outshot Penn State Altoona 13-10 and attempted four more corners than the Lions.

The Redhawks will travel to either Pitt-Bradford or Penn State Altoona for an AMCC Tournament first round game on Saturday. La Roche must await the final of the D'Youville at Penn State Behrend game on Wednesday before their seeding is determined.
