The La Roche men's soccer team was well represented when the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Conference Team was announced today. Sophomore, Bryan Weimerskirch, was named an AMCC All-Conference First Team performer, Ryan Luffey was named to the All-Conference Second Team, and Tyler Irwin was a Third Team honoree.
Weimerskirch followed his historic freshman season with another terrific year. He finished tied for third in the AMCC in points (28) and goals (12) and in the top 10 in shots and game winning goals. Weimerskirch, a 2011 Second Team selection and the Newcomer of the Year, also ranked in the top 100 nationally in points and goals.
Luffey, a sophomore, tied his school record with 12 assists which also ranked atop the conference and an incredible 4th in the nation. He finished the season tied for 3rd in the AMCC with 28 points and tied for 8th in goals with 8. Luffey was a First Team honoree last season and won the AMCC Player of the Week award earlier this year.
Tyler Irwin was named to the All-Conference Third Team after being a force on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. He finished the season with 4 goals and 11 points and played a vital role at the Redhawks' center midfield position. Irwin was also named AMCC Player of the Week during the Week of October 26, 2012.
