“Rulnick and Renninger lead Redhawks to Cross Country Victories at Mt. Aloysius Cross Country Invitational”

In a dual cross country meet with Mt. Aloysius College, Redhawk speedster Josh Rulnick earned the title 'meet champion' of the men's division in convincing fashion. Rulnick charged ahead of the pack in the second kilometer of the six-kilometer (3.7 mile) race and increased his lead through the remainder of the rustic course, maintaining a 5:33 per mile pace and winning the men's division of the Mount Aloysius Cross Country Invitational by nearly three minutes in a quick time of 20:45. The terrain of the course was ideal for cross country runners, with soft forest paths meandering up toward well-hewn meadows bounded by cornfields and open grassy plains. In a collective extra effort by the Redhawk harriers, Rulnick's teammates Dylan Grazier (3rd place in 25:32), Michael Williams (4th place in 25:59), Andrew Tressler (5th place in 26:32) and SaQuane Milton (7th place in 29:48) finished impressively. The La Roche College men secured their first cross country team victory of the year in this exciting dual meet, scoring 20 points to the Mount's 35 points. In the women's division, Tara Renninger added to her reputation as 'runner extraordinaire' for the La Roche women's team, demonstrating speed and consistency by powering away from the field and crossing the finish line more than a minute ahead of all competitors in a quick time of 24 minutes flat for the five-kilometer (3.1 miles) distance. La Roche freshman Beatrice Hand ran a very strong race to finish in third place in 25 minutes and 25 seconds. Close behind Hand in a solid team performance was fourth-place Amy Leavengood in 25:38, and fifth place Hillary Sandzimier in 26:05. In her first competitive footrace, all-round athlete Melissa Palmieri finished a solid 27:04 to secure eighth position. Udo Nwosu motored across the finish line in 31:01 (11th place) and Anselyn Motcho came through in 33:31 (12th place) to round out the La Roche women's performance. The La Roche women won the meet by scoring 21 points, compared to 34 points for the Mount. Mt.
