Lady Redhawks Fall to Defending AMCC Conference Champions

BUFFALO, NY – La Roche Softball (11-9, 4-4) fell to defending AMCC Conference Champion D'Youville College (9-11, 6-4) 9-1, 8-2 in a double-header on Saturday.

Jennifer Lentz scored a first-inning run and Kim McLay added a triple and a run in the fifth inning of Game 1. Both Lady Redhawks reached base twice, along with Kaylee Zozos who finished with an RBI single and a walk.

Deanna Tritinger started for La Roche and allowed 8 runs in 6 innings of work. Tritinger also contributed on the offensive side with a fourth inning double.

The Lady Redhawks again took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of Game 2 when Kim McLay reached on a single and scored on an error by the pitcher. Kayla Zozos followed with a hit and Kiersten Lorditch reached on an error, but La Roche was not able to advance them home.

McLay reached base twice and scored a run while Mareya Justice and Cyana Wulfers combined to allow just 5 earned runs.

La Roche's game scheduled for Sunday, April 15 against Pitt-Bradford has been cancelled. The Lady Redhawks' next game will instead be played against Penn State Altoona on Tuesday at 3:00PM
