Zozos Belts Her First Career Homer in Loss to Mt. Aloysius

PITTSBURGH, PA – Kaylee Zozos belted her first career home run in La Roche Softball's (12-12, 4-6) double-header loss 3-2 (8 innings), 9-1 to Mt. Aloysius (18-16, 8-4) in AMCC Conference play on Saturday.

Zozos' home run gave the Lady Redhawks a 2-0 fourth inning lead, but the visiting Mounties answered with a run each in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to take Game 1.

In addition to Zozos' two-run homer, Alex Spain singled and scored and Jodi Walsh went 1 for 3 with a double. Deanna Tritinger threw all 8 innings and allowed just 3 runs on 7 hits while striking out a season-high 8 batters.

Lea Kronz went 1 for 1 with a run and 2 walks in La Roche's 9-1 Game 2 loss. Alex Spain and Kaylee Zozos drew 2 walks apiece and Jennifer Lentz had an RBI single. Mareya Justice allowed only 1 run on 3 hits in relief.

La Roche Softball will travel to Penn State Behrend on Friday to take on the Lions. The game was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 21.
