Lady Redhawks Drop 7-4 Game to Mary Washington

N. MYRTLE BEACH, SC – La Roche Softball (2-5) dropped a 7-4 game to Mary Washington (5-6) on Thursday in their seventh spring game in N. Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Lady Redhawks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Lea Kronz scored on a passed ball. Mary Washington fought back with a run each in the second, third, and fourth innings, but La Roche answered with a run in the bottom of the third inning and 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Kaylee Zozos crossed home plate in the third inning before Lentz helped the Lady Redhawks tie it at 3-3 when she scored on the wild pitch. La Roche took the lead when a Zozos double to centerfield scored Kronz.

The Redhawks left runners in scoring position in the fourth and fifth innings and Mary Washington scored three runs in the fifth and an insurance run in the sixth to hang on.

Kronz reached base 3 times, scored twice, and registered a stolen base. Zozos went 2 for 4 with an RBI double and a run scored and Jennifer Lentz doubled and scored. Amber Steenbeke and Nicole Fievet each reached base twice in the loss.

Deanna Tritinger threw all 7 innings and allowed 7 runs (6 earned runs) on 12 hits while striking out 3 batters.

The Lady Redhawks will play Mary Washington tomorrow at 9:30AM before returning back to campus on Saturday.
