PITTSBURGH, PA -- La Roche Women's Basketball (8-2) fell to Waynesburg University (8-2) 59-51 at the Kerr Fitness Center. It was the Lady Redhawks first home loss of the season.

La Roche trailed by as little as one point with less than 4 minutes left in regulation before the Yellow Jackets built an insurmountable lead. Guard Hannah Hunter hit a deep three-pointer to put Waynesburg up 4 points and the Yellow Jackets hit 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch.

Despite the loss, freshman guard Casie Cygan led the Lady Redhawks with 14 points. Freshman guard Amanda Garland finished with a career high 13 points and 9 rebounds and freshman forward Jessica Pitts added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

La Roche recorded a season low seven steals and only scored 13 points off of turnovers. The Lady Redhawks were outrebound 39-38.

La Roche Women's Basketball will host Penn State Altoona on Wednesday, January 5 at 6:00PM at the Kerr Fitness Center.
