PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks celebrated senior night with their first-ever AMCC Conference Regular Season Championship. Jessica Pitts scored 22 second half points as the Lady Redhawks (21-4, 16-2) beat Medaille (21-3, 16-2)61-58 to clinch a bye and home-court advantage in the AMCC Tournament.
Medaille held an 8 point lead with less than 8 minutes to play before Jessica Pitts lead the Lady Redhawks on a 10-2 run. Pitts exploited Medaille's back court foul trouble by attacking the rim and scoring 13 of the Lady Redhawks final 14 points.
Pitts finished with a career-high 29 points on 11 of 13 shooting, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks. La Roche's all-time leading scorer, Chantelle Jennings, recorded 11 points and Ariel Green added 7 assists and 5 rebounds in the win.
The Lady Redhawks shot a season-high 47% from the field and held Medaille to their lowest point total in eighteen games.
The Lady Redhawks will return to action on Friday, February 25 at 6:00PM at the Kerr Fitness Center. La Roche will host the winner of the Penn St. Altoona at Pitt-Bradford game which will be played on Tuesday, February 22 at 7:00PM.
