HAMBURG, NY – La Roche women's basketball (14-4, 11-0) extended their AMCC Conference win-streak to twenty-four games with a 68-37 win over Hilbert College (2-14, 2-8) on Saturday evening.
The host Hawks hit a three-pointer 45 seconds into the contest to take a 3-0 lead but La Roche went on a 14-0 run and never trailed again. Jessica Pitts led the Lady Redhawks with 11 points and 7 rebounds at the half and hit 7 of 8 free throws.
La Roche continued their success in the second half by forcing turnovers and limiting giveaways. The Lady Redhawks currently rank in the top six nationally in both categories.
Pitts led all scorers with 20 points and added 8 rebounds and 4 steals on defense. Amanda Garland and Casie Cygan both recorded double figures with 12 points and 11 points respectively. Ja'Nia McPhatter had a game-high 5 steals in the win.
La Roche women's basketball will try to extend their conference win-streak to twenty-five games when they host Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday. The Lady Redhawks forced 38 turnovers in a 68-50 win over Pitt-Greensburg on December 7, 2011.
