Women's Hoops Grabs 43 Boards in 76-36 Victory over Pitt-Greensburg
PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks (15-4, 12-0) forced thirty-seven turnovers and held Pitt-Greensburg (7-12, 5-7) to 26% shooting in a 76-36 victory on Wednesday night at the Kerr Fitness Center.
Both teams got off to a slow start but Jessica Pitts hit three straight layups to spark a 12-0 run late in the first half. The Lady Redhawks looked to their bench to extend the lead, and their bench outscored Pitt-Greensburg 31-2 in the second half.
Pitts led La Roche with 14 points and 9 rebounds and McPhatter scored in double figures (10 points) for the fifth time in eight games. LaShauna Brothers finished with 7 points and 6 rebounds and Amanda Garland had 4 steals.
Pitt-Greensburg's Casey Stanton contributed 14 points to reach 1000 career points.
La Roche recorded over forty rebounds for the third straight game and outscored the Bobcats by twenty-six points in the paint.
The Lady Redhawks play host to Penn State Behrend on Saturday, January 28 at 4:00PM. The Lions are coming off of a 78-43 win over Hilbert.
