Medaille Ends Lady Redhawks' Conference Win-Streak at 30 Games

BUFFALO, NY – Jessica Pitts recorded her fourth double-double of the season but the Lady Redhawks (20-5, 17-1) could not overcome a five point halftime deficit as they fell to Medaille (21-4, 16-2) 59-56. The loss is La Roche's first in AMCC Conference play since January 15, 2011 (thirty games).

The Lady Redhawks trailed 57-52 with five minutes remaining before cutting the deficit to just one point. Jessica Pitts hit a fast break jumper and Casie Cygan nailed a deep two-pointer, but Medaille converted their foul shots to hang on for the win.

Ja'Nia McPhatter scored a game-high 16 points and finished with 7 boards. Jessica Pitts netted 12 points and had a game-high 10 rebounds and Casie Cygan added 11 points. Ariel Green recorded 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in the loss.

Despite the loss, the Lady Redhawks continued to flourish in the turnover department by forcing twenty-two turnovers and giving the ball up just ten times.

La Roche returns to action in the AMCC Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday, February 24 at 6:00PM at the Kerr Fitness Center. They will take on the winner of the Mount Aloysius vs. Pitt-Bradford game scheduled for Tuesday.
