Today, three Lady Redhawk soccer players were rewarded for their fine play during the 2012 season. Bethanie Moreschi was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference and Katherine Golebie and Nicole Ferraco received Third Team All-Conference honors.
Bethanie becomes just the third La Roche women's soccer player to win AMCC Player of the Year after leading the conference in goals for the second-time and ranking in the top 2 in points for the third time. She finishes the season with 16 goals and 2 assists, and finishes her career as the school's second leading scorer with 68 goals. Bethanie was twice named AMCC First Team All-Conference and twice Second Team All-Conference.
Coach Miguel Lozano was very happy to see the four-year starter win the award. "I knew Bethanie would represent La Roche well because she was a great student athlete at North Hills. She has done nothing but exceed my highest expectations and has been a pleasure to coach over the past four years. I'm very happy she received the AMCC Player of the Year award".
Katherine Golebie, a preseason player to watch, was named to the All-Conference team for the third consecutive season. In 2010, she was an All-Conference First Team selection and the past two years was named All-Conference Third Team. Golebie anchored a Lady Redhawks' defense that ranked third in the AMCC in goals allowed (1.3 per game) and finished the season with four consecutive shutouts. She also ranks among the school's all-time leaders in games played.
Nicole Ferraco was named to the AMCC All-Conference Third Team after a terrific season for La Roche. She finished the season with 2 goals and 4 assists and provided smart and steady play from the center midfield position.
Congratulations to Bethanie, Katherine, and Nicole for their All-Conference Honors.
