Wilf Named AMCC Co-Coach of the Year, Four Lady Redhawks Named All-Conference

Four La Roche women's tennis players were honored today by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference including first-year head coach, Aaron Wilf, who was named the conference's co-coach of the year. Victoria Shields (#1 singles), Doria Shima (#3 singles), Lynka Ineza (#5 singles), Melanie Ward (#3 doubles), and Lynka Ineza (#3 doubles) were all named to the AMCC All-Conference Second Team.

Shields, Shima, and Ineza made the AMCC Tournament Finals in singles and the pairing of Ineza and Ward made the finals in doubles. They are the first La Roche tennis players to make the conference finals and as a team finished third overall in the AMCC Conference Tournament.

The Lady Redhawks set over twenty school records this season and finished with the best winning percentage in the AMCC Conference (.727%). Their season was highlighted by a six match winning streak, two conference player of the week awards, and a win against Franciscan, ending their record nine game winning streak.

Wilf is the first La Roche tennis coach to win the coach of the year award and Shields, Shima, Ineza, and Ward are the first Lady Redhawks to be named to the all-conference team.
