Lady Redhawks Shock Penn State Behrend

ERIE, PA -- The women's tennis team today scored a huge upset over the 7 time defending conference champion Penn State Behrend at Lakevue Athletic Club. The team won 5-4 and ended the Lion's conference match winning streak that extended over 3 years. It is the 1st ever tennis win against Penn State Behrend and ranks as one of the biggest tennis wins in school history.

La Roche got a big win by the #3 doubles team of Doria Shima and Mel Ward, and the singles winners included Lynka Ineza, Shima, Ward, and Chelsey Wassel, whose win at #5 in 3 sets clinched the victory for the team.
"I'm really happy for this team. They put together a great effort today and got a signature win for this program" said Head Coach Aaron Wilf.
The team is now 4-5 overall and 3-2 in conference.
