Tennis Beats Pitt-Greensburg in 1st round of Playoffs

ALLISON PARK, PA -- The women's tennis team, in the new post season format,  played in their 1st team playoff game in school history. The #4 seeded Redhawks hosted #5 seed Pitt-Greensburg and came away with a crucial 5-3 win.

Junior Doria Shima led the way with a win at #4 singles and teamed with Mel Ward to earn a victory at #3 doubles. Sophomore Chelsey Wassel teamed with Lynka Ineza to win at #2 doubles and then clinched the team win with a victory at #5 singles.
The team's winning streak has now hit 6 matches as they advance to play #1 seed Franciscan on Saturday in the semi-finals.
The match starts at 2:30PM at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, PA.
