Wilf Wins 2nd Consecutive Coach of the Year and Ward and Shima Named AMCC All-Conference First Team
Head Tennis Coach Aaron Wilf was named the 2012 AMCC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year after leading his squad to its first ever conference championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in May. He guided the Lady Redhawks to a school record 10 wins with a 10-5 overall record, after posting a fantastic 8-3 record and winning Coach of the Year honors last year.
Senior Melanie Ward and junior Doria Shima were named to the All-Conference First Team; the first time in school history a tennis player has made the AMCC First Team.
Melanie was selected for the First Team in both singles and doubles after posting a 12-2 overall record and 7-1 record in the AMCC at the #6 position.
Melanie teamed with Doria at the #3 doubles spot where they were an AMCC First Team selection. The Redhawk duo went 8-1 in the conference and 10-1 overall, including 3-0 in the playoffs, to highlight one of the best seasons ever for a La Roche doubles team.
