PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche women's volleyball (5-18, 0-2) could not hold a two-point lead late in the fifth set, falling to AMCC Conference-Rival Pitt Greensburg (7-15, 2-2) 3-2 (25-16, 20-25, 21-25, 25-14, 13-15) at the Kerr Fitness Center on Tuesday night.
The Lady Redhawks and Pitt-Greensburg traded wins in the first two games before the Bobcats took the fifth and final game. La Roche held an 11-9 lead in the fifth game but could not hold on as the visiting Bobcats won six of the last eight points.
Despite the loss, Shawn Neiswonger and Shelby Weber enjoyed season-highs in kills with 16 and 14 apiece. Emily Foust led the Lady Redhawks with 35 assists and 12 digs and Brittany Demeno added eleven digs. Weber recorded three serving aces and Demeno finished with two.
La Roche women's volleyball will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Franciscan University. The Barons come into the contest losers of two straight.
