La Roche Volleyball Takes Penn State Altoona to the Wire

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks (5-20, 0-3) went point for point with AMCC Conference leader Penn State Altoona (12-9, 7-0) but could not finish it out as they fell 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 26-24) on Wednesday night at the Kerr Fitness Center.

La Roche lost the first two games before taking the visiting Lions to the wire in the third. The Lady Redhawks trailed 18-12 but stellar defense from Emily Foust helped La Roche fight back to tie it at 24-24 before dropping the last two points.

Foust led the Lady Redhawks with twenty digs and thirteen assists and Shawn Neiswonger added eight kills. Neiswonger and Kelly Hyatt each recorded five digs and Hyatt and Shelby Weber had one serving ace apiece.

The Lady Redhawks return to action on Saturday when they host an AMCC Conference Quad-match. La Roche will play Penn State Behrend at 1:00PM and D'Youville College at 3:00PM.
