Josh enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Redhawks.
Josh pitched at Allegheny College and played 7 years of Professional Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants, two of which were spent in the Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
At Allegheny, Josh was a four-year starter. He earned 1st team all-conference honors in 2001 and 2003. Josh ranks in the top 5 in school history in wins, innings pitched, and strikeouts.
After graduating from Allegheny College in 2003, he was drafted in the 24th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. That year Josh helped the Williamsport Crosscutters capture the Short-Season Single A championship. The following year Josh was ranked in the top 30 prospects in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization according to Baseball America.
In 2004, while pitching out of the bullpen, Josh helped lead the Low Class A Hickory Crawdads to the South Atlantic League Championship.
The following season, Baseball America rated Josh the 16th best prospect in the Pirates organization.
In 2006, Josh was selected to play in the 2006 XM Satellite Futures all-star game at PNC Park. He pitched a game high 1 1/3rd scoreless innings to help lead the US to victory over the World Team. That year Baseball America rated Josh as the 4th best prospect in the Pirates Organization.
Later that season, Josh made his Major League debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates with a scoreless inning against the Atlanta Braves. Josh would spend parts of 2007 in the Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Josh finished his playing career in 2008 and 2009 playing in the San Francisco Giants organization.
