PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche men's basketball continued its hot streak on Wednesday, lighting the scoreboard for 100 points in a 103-85 victory over Carlow.
Over the opening 3:30, the Redhawks held a 7-4 lead and then the onslaught began. Behind solid three-point shooting and great defense, La Roche went on 33-10 run over the next 11 minutes, opening a commanding, 40-14 lead.
By the halftime break, the lead stayed in the 20's and the score sat at 54-30 as the teams headed to the locker room.
Out of the locker room, the lead continued to hold above 20, including growing to 93-62 with 7:25 remaining. The Celtics would only come with 21-points on two seperate occassions, but it was cruise control for La Roche as they secured the dominant victory.
For the game, the Redhawks shot 40-for-66 from the field (60.6%), 12-for-26 from deep (46.2%) and 11-for-19 from the foul line (57.9%).
On the other side, Carlow shot 31-for-62 from the floor (50%), 6-for-19 from three (31.6%) and 17-for-21 from the charity stripe (81%).
Five Redhawks hit for double-figures, led by Bryce Epps with 21 points in 16 minutes of action, while adding four rebounds.
Brandon Bell followed with a 16 point, six rebounds showing, while Logan Golle contributed 14 points and four assists. Jeston Beatty provided 13 points and six assists off the bench and Major Rainey also hit for 10 points and five rebounds.
La Roche aims to add another win to the ledger on Saturday, Jan. 31 when they host Pitt-Bradford at 4 p.m.
