Redhawks Outlast Bobcats in Thrilling Contest, 80–77

PITTSBURGH, PA — In what might go down as one of the most exciting late-season Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games of the year, La Roche escaped with an 80–77 victory over Pitt-Greensburg Wednesday night at Kerr Fitness & Sports Center.

From tip-off, it was clear this would be a heavyweight battle in the AMCC standings. Both teams traded baskets and leads through the first half, with the Redhawks answering every punch the Bobcats threw. At intermission La Roche held a narrow 44–39 advantage, riding efficient shooting and back-and-forth possession play.

Greensburg refused to wilt in the second half, staying within striking distance and trading leads through much of the closing minutes. A series of clutch baskets — including tough layups and timely perimeter shots — kept the tension high as the clock wound down. With under a minute to play, the Bobcats had battled back to tie the game, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.

In the final seconds, La Roche found just enough execution down the stretch. A go-ahead layup put the Redhawks up by two, and though Greensburg pulled within one at the free-throw line, La Roche sealed the win with a late basket in the closing ticks.

The victory kept La Roche firmly in the AMCC race, showcasing resilience and clutch play in a matchup with significant conference implications.

All five starters finished in double figures, led by Logan Golle's 18 points, while Epps added 17 and Major Rainey secured a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
