Redhawks Fall To Mount Vernon Nazarene

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche faced a tough challenge against Mount Vernon Nazarene, falling 21–1 in a matchup where the visitors controlled the pace from the opening whistle.

Mount Vernon Nazarene wasted no time establishing momentum, scoring six goals in the first quarter to take an early 6–0 lead. Despite defensive efforts from La Roche, the visitors consistently found openings, using quick ball movement and efficient finishing to build their advantage.

The second quarter proved even more difficult, as Mount Vernon Nazarene added 10 more goals. La Roche continued to battle, and their persistence paid off late in the half when Stephan Mescan broke through with an unassisted goal, getting the Redhawks on the board with just 35 seconds remaining before halftime. However, Mount Vernon Nazarene answered quickly to take a 16–1 lead into the break.

In the second half, La Roche's defense showed resilience against a high-volume attack. Goalkeeper Calvin Rowland played a key role, recording 20 saves while facing 41 shots on goal. Despite the pressure, the Redhawks continued to compete, limiting some scoring opportunities and fighting for possession.
