Redhawks Complete Perfect First Half Of AMCC Play With Dominant Win Over Bobcats

GREENSBURG, Pa. - La Roche women's basketball completed an undefeated first half of AMCC play, cruising past Pitt-Greensburg, 87-41, on Wednesday night.

The Redhawks set the tone immediately, opening a 12-4 lead and then across the final 3:21 of the first quarter, the red and white used a 12-0 run to take a commanding, 24-4 lead into the second quarter.

La Roche continued to grow the lead into the second quarter, including a 40-12 lead with 4:15 remaining, before taking a 51-20 edge into the half.

The second half was much of the same, building the lead to 37 points by the end of the third, then another single digit scoring quarter of nine points for the Bobcats, as the Redhawks sealed the victory.

La Roche ended the night shooting 44.1% from the field (30-for-68), 9-for-23 from three (39.1%) and 18-for-23 from the foul line (78.3%).

On the other end, Greensburg finished 34.6% from the floor (18-for-52), 2-for-11 from deep (18.2%) and 3-for-7 from the charity stripe (42.9%).

Reigning AMCC Player of the Week, Jazmine Dunn, contined her stellar stretch of play with 24 points, behind six three-pointers, adding four rebounds, seven assists and a pair of steals.

Catherine Kelly followed with a 15 point, five rebounds performance, while Nautica Burwell contributed 13 points and seven rebounds.

J'La Kizart was the fourth player in double figures with 12 points, five rebounds and six steals.

The second leg of the three-game road trip comes on Saturday, Jan. 24, when the Redhawks head to New York for a 2 p.m. matchup against Hilbert.
