PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche women's basketball continued its roll in AMCC play on Wednesday night, cruising past Carlow, 93-51.
It was a tight first quarter, as the score stood tied at 7-7 in the first 2:30 of play, but a 7-0 run over the next two minutes gave the Redhawks a 14-7 edge at the midway point.
The lead would hold through the remainder of the quarter as La Roche took a 19-13 lead into the second quarter.
The Redhawks would go on an offensive onslaught in the second quarter, dropping 30 points in the frame, while limiting the Celtics to 10, taking a commanding, 49-23 lead into the half.
Out of the break, La Roche continued its dominance, outscoring Carlow, 24-7, pushing the lead to 73-30 heading into the fourth and while both offenses put points on the board in the final frame, the game had already been out of reach, leading to the victory.
For the game, the Redhawks shot 34-for-76 (44.7%) from the floor, 12-for-32 (37.5%) from deep and 13-for-20 (65%) from the foul line.
On the other side, Carlow finished 15-for-59 from the field (25.4%), 2-for-18 from three (11.1%) and 19-for-25 from the charity stripe (76%).
Four players struck for double figures, with Catherine Kelly leading the way, matching her season-high with 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Jazmine Dunn followed with 19 points, six assists and a pair of blocks, while Nautica Burwell secured a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Kaitlyn Nease also contributed a double-double, scoring 13 points with 10 rebounds.
Not in double figures, but loading the stat sheet was J'La Kizart, ending with a final line of seven points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and three blocks.
The Redhawks return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31, when they open doubleheader action against Pitt-Bradford at 2 p.m.
