Redhawks Back On Track, Roll Past Bobcats

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche was able to bounce-back after Saturday's defeat, coming home to dominate Pitt-Greensburg, 92-38, on Wednesday night.

It was a sluggish start to the game for both sides, as the score read, 8-0 in favor of the Redhawks at the midway point of the first quarter.

La Roche would settle down a little, taking a 17-6 lead into the second, allowing just one made field goal in the opening quarter, which came with 34 seconds remaining.

The Redhawks would push the edge to 20-points, in the early stages of the second half, but with just 2:01 remaining in the half, the Bobcats crawled back to within eight, but La Roche would still take a 40-29 lead into the break.

Out of the half, it was a completely different game, with the Redhawks dominating UPG to the tune of 52-9 across the third and fourth quarters, allowing just three shots to fall in the final 16 minutes.

For the game, the Redhawks shot 34-for-79 from the field (43%), 9-for-25 from three (36%) and 15-for-24 from the free-throw line (62.5%).

On the other end, the Bobcats shot 13-for-61 from the floor (21.3%), 1-for-17 from deep (5.9%) and made 11-of-15 attempts from the charity stripe (73.3%).

La Roche had four players finish the game in double figures, led by Jazmine Dunn with a 24 point, 10 rebound, double-double, while also adding three assists and a pair of steals.

Catherine Kelly contributed a double-double of her own with 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Kaitlyn Nease and Danaeja James both scored 12 points. Nease added eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks, while James collected seven rebounds.

The second of three home games to close the season comes up on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m., when the Redhawks host Alfred State on Senior Day.
