Redhawks Set Program Single Game Scoring Record In Shutout Victory

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche women's lacrosse set a new program, single game scoring record, taking down Trinity (D.C.), 27-0 on Saturday.

La Roche delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, overwhelming Trinity (D.C.) in a 27–0 victory behind relentless offense and complete control in all phases.

The tone was set immediately in the opening quarter. La Roche wasted no time establishing momentum, scoring just seconds into the game and never letting up. Alecia D'Urso led the charge, finding the net repeatedly in a rapid offensive surge that quickly put Trinity on its heels. Goals came from all areas—unassisted efforts, quick transitions, and crisp passing sequences—as La Roche built a staggering 14–0 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The attack was balanced but explosive. Nicole Schroeder and Madalynn Dembrowski each contributed multiple early goals, while Jaina Ilko and Kayla Mull added to the scoring wave. Possession remained firmly in La Roche's control, fueled by strong draw work and ground ball wins that prevented Trinity from generating any sustained offense.

The second quarter continued in much the same fashion. La Roche added four more goals, with Finnleigh Gould and D'Urso continuing to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Defensive pressure remained suffocating, limiting Trinity to minimal shot attempts and forcing turnovers throughout the half. By halftime, the advantage had grown to 18–0.

With the outcome firmly in hand, La Roche maintained its intensity after the break. Five more goals came in the third quarter, highlighted by contributions from Ilko, Gould, Teresa Munoz Torrado, and Mull. The offensive depth was evident, as scoring chances were created by multiple players and converted efficiently.

The final quarter added four more goals to complete the 27–0 result. Paige Smith and Schroeder each found the net, while D'Urso capped off a remarkable individual performance with her tenth goal of the game. Gould added the final score, assisted by Ilko, closing out a complete team effort.

D'Urso led all scorers with 10 goals and 4 assists, while Schroeder added five goals and three assists. Dembrowski and Gould each recorded hat tricks, underscoring the balance of the attack. Mull contributed across the field with two goals, an assist, and strong possession play, while the team as a whole controlled draws and ground balls decisively.

Defensively, La Roche was equally dominant. The unit allowed just three total shots, all of which were handled by goalkeepers Mairead Kimbrell and Julianna Hornikel, combining for a shutout. Trinity was unable to find rhythm offensively, as consistent pressure and clean execution from La Roche prevented any scoring opportunities.
