HAMBURG, N.Y. - La Roche delivered a complete performance on both ends of the field, pulling away for a 7–1 victory over Hilbert in the final regular season contest of the season.
With the victory and results in the AMCC on Saturday, La Roche will enter the AMCC Tournament as the #4 seed in their quest to retain their crown.
After a scoreless opening quarter, La Roche began to find its rhythm in the second. Alecia D'Urso broke the deadlock midway through the period off an assist from Finnleigh Gould, sparking a three-goal run. Kiki Nemcek followed with a goal of her own, and D'Urso struck again on a man-up opportunity—this time assisted by Jaina Ilko—to give La Roche a 3–0 halftime lead.
With momentum firmly on their side, La Roche continued to control play in the third quarter. Gould added to the advantage with an unassisted goal, extending the lead to 4–0 as the defense continued to hold Hilbert in check.
The fourth quarter saw La Roche put the game out of reach. Nicole Schroeder scored early in the period, and Madalynn Dembrowski followed with another goal off a feed from Nemcek. Nemcek then capped the scoring for La Roche with her second goal of the game, finishing off a strong offensive showing and pushing the lead to 7–0.
Hilbert managed to break through late with an unassisted goal, but it did little to shift the outcome.
La Roche's offense was led by D'Urso, who finished with two goals and two assists, while Nemcek added two goals and an assist. Gould contributed a goal and an assist, and Schroeder was a constant presence offensively, firing a game-high 11 shots.
Defensively, La Roche controlled possession throughout, collecting 39 ground balls and forcing 37 turnovers. Goalkeeper Julianna Hornikel anchored the effort with five saves, allowing just one goal across the full 60 minutes.
The Redhawks will return to action on Tuesday, April 21 when they meet #1 seed Alfred State. Time to be determined.
